Admissions Process

Process for Behavioral Health Services

The Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital admissions team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Generally, patients will contact admissions and set a no-cost, face-to-face assessment. This appointment can be made at your convenience. At that time, you will meet with a master’s prepared clinician to determine if you meet inpatient criteria. Once criteria are determined, you can be admitted. For additional information, please contact our admissions office at 843-347-8871.

Discharge

The discharge planning process is started at the time of admission. It is a dynamic, ongoing process.

The mental health treatment team will address the problems and concerns of the patient and will offer suggestions for the continuation of care after discharge. This may include, but would not be limited, to outpatient visits with a private therapist, follow-up with a psychiatrist for medication management or AA/NA attendance.

Discharge occurs when the patient’s goals have been achieved, nursing and therapeutic interventions are complete and the physician deems the patient to be stable and ready to leave the hospital.
